Pre-operative Assessments

Patients awaiting surgery are advised to see their physiotherapist prior, to prepare and help their bodies reach their optimal condition to accelerate recovery post op.

Patients are seen prior to their surgery to:

  • discuss the role of physiotherapy postoperatively
  • practice exercises that are to be performed after the surgery
  • learn about equipment required after the operation
  • optimise strength and range of movement

Post-surgical Rehabilitation

Our physiotherapists see many patients following various surgical procedures to assist in their recovery with the goal of returning to their full level of mobility and function. Common conditions seen post operatively include orthopaedic joint replacements, Spinal surgery, shoulder surgery, foot surgery and repair of tendons, ligaments and fractures.

Falls Prevention

Our physiotherapists can assess your balance and risk of falls. From this, a tailored individualised exercise program can be prescribed to help strengthen and improve balance to prevent falls. Mobility aids and equipment may be prescribed to ensure safe mobility.
